Update: Domino Day 2008

After finding out that I needed to be in the EU to help set up dominos for Domino Day 2008 in the Netherlands, I sent the following request to see if I could attend as a reporter.

Hi Carolien,

Thank-you for letting me know.  I would consider moving to some country in the EU just to be a part of this but that might be a little too much for my wife!

 I truly am interested in finding a way to attend.  I know that it would provide excellent content for my blog and upcoming book on how people can make the world a better place by setting chain reactions in motion. 

 I’m wondering what would be involved in getting access to cover the event as a reporter?  I would happily work with the right people in your organization to make proper arrangements.   I feel this could provide some excellent exposure for the event in the US and also could be a fun way for your organization to support my efforts to take the domino analogy and create a movement around “Setting Big Things In Motion.”

 Of course, I’m willing to cover all travel expenses on my own.  I’m just requesting access and limited time to talk to the designers, assistance, etc (without getting in the way of what must be a very busy few days!).

I received a very nice reply requesting more background information.  I sent a bunch.  Now, I'm just waiting to hear back. Carolien has been very nice and responsive and I'm looking forward to them agreeing!  One can only hope...domino day
